Hey fellow Nauts,
I’m excited to share that my debut Dub Techno EP, Feedback, is coming out today on Dreiton Records.
This project is all about the raw energy of hardware and live one-take sessions, and I thought some of you might enjoy a peek into the setup and process.
The dub chords and feedback delays are the heart of this EP, and I relied heavily on the Elektron Analog Four MK2 and Empress Echosystem to create them.
Tracks Feedback 1 and Feedback 2 really push these to the limit, leaning on tape-style and analog emulation delays to create escalating feedbacks that get dense and distorted. This fits perfectly with the Analog Four’s raw oscillators, which add their own grit and weight to the sound.
For drums, backing tracks, and performance mixing, the Octatrack was my main tool—it tied everything together during the live sessions.
The samples I used came from my personal library, built by sampling instruments like the Access Virus Ti, Nord Lead 2, Roland TR8S, and Elektron Syntakt, with character added through pedals like the Chase Bliss Audio MOOD, OTO BOUM and Ventris Reverb.
The EP will be out on Bandcamp, Beatport, SoundCloud, and my YouTube channel.
If you’re into dub techno or curious about how this setup came together, feel free to check it out or hit me up with any questions!
Enjoy and thanks for listening
